Copper Torch Coral
Copper Torch Coral is a beautiful Euphyllia variety with rich copper, bronze and warm metallic tones, complemented by contrasting fluorescent tips. Its long, flowing tentacles provide constant movement and can develop particularly striking colouration beneath blue-heavy reef lighting.
Copper Torches appreciate moderate lighting and varied, indirect flow. The aim is enough movement to gently sway the tentacles without forcing them continuously in one direction.
Care Guide
Care Level: Moderate
Lighting: Moderate
PAR: Approx. 100–200
Flow: Moderate, indirect and varied
Placement: Lower–Middle areas of the aquarium
Temperament: Aggressive
Feeding: Photosynthetic; benefits from occasional targeted feeding
Growth: Moderate
Recommended Parameters
Temperature: 24–26°C
Salinity: 1.025–1.026 SG
Alkalinity: 7.5–9 dKH
Calcium: 400–450 ppm
Magnesium: 1250–1400 ppm
Nitrate: 2–15 ppm
Phosphate: 0.03–0.10 ppm
Allow generous clearance around the coral, as Torch Corals possess a powerful sting and their long tentacles can reach neighbouring corals. Stable alkalinity, salinity and nutrient levels are particularly important for maintaining healthy tissue and consistent expansion.
With the right placement, a Copper Torch provides a fantastic combination of metallic colour, fluorescence and flowing movement, making it a standout addition to an LPS collection.
Colour and appearance can vary depending on lighting spectrum, intensity and individual aquarium conditions.
