You will receice a 1 - 2” frag of Purple Stylophora coral.
Purple Stylophora is a beautiful branching SPS coral that develops rich purple to violet colouration across its compact, densely packed branches. Tiny polyps cover the surface of the coral, giving established colonies a soft, textured appearance when fully extended.
Under strong reef lighting, its purple colouration can become particularly intense, making it an excellent choice for adding both colour and structure to an SPS or mixed reef. Stylophora is also generally considered one of the more forgiving SPS corals, making it a good introduction to branching SPS for reef keepers with a mature, stable aquarium.
Recommended Tank Parameters
Temperature: 24–26°C
Salinity: 1.025–1.026 SG
Alkalinity: 7.5–9.0 dKH
Calcium: 400–450 ppm
Magnesium: 1250–1400 ppm
Nitrate: 2–15 ppm
Phosphate: 0.03–0.10 ppm
Lighting: Moderate to high, approximately 150–300 PAR
Flow: Moderate to high, varied/turbulent
Placement: Middle to upper areas of the aquarium
Care Level: Moderate
Temperament: Peaceful
Growth Form: Branching SPS
Good water movement is particularly important with Stylophora. Varied, turbulent flow helps carry nutrients to the colony while preventing detritus from accumulating between its tightly packed branches.
As with most SPS corals, long-term stability is more important than constantly adjusting parameters to achieve exact numbers. Sudden swings in alkalinity, salinity or temperature should be avoided.
