Single head
Yuma Mushroom Coral
Yuma Mushrooms are highly sought-after soft corals known for their fleshy appearance, pronounced bubble-like vesicles and intense fluorescent colouration. Each specimen can develop a unique combination of colours and patterns, making Yumas particularly attractive for collectors.
Unlike many tougher mushroom corals, Yumas can be sensitive to excessive lighting and sudden changes, so a gentle introduction to their new aquarium is recommended.
Care Guide
Care Level: Moderate
Lighting: Low–Moderate
PAR: Approx. 50–120
Flow: Low–Moderate, indirect
Placement: Lower areas of the aquarium
Temperament: Semi-aggressive
Feeding: Photosynthetic; can benefit from occasional small meaty foods
Growth: Moderate once established
Recommended Parameters
Temperature: 24–26°C
Salinity: 1.025–1.026 SG
Alkalinity: 7.5–9 dKH
Calcium: 400–450 ppm
Magnesium: 1250–1400 ppm
Nitrate: 2–15 ppm
Phosphate: 0.03–0.10 ppm
Yumas generally prefer gentle flow that allows the mushroom to remain fully expanded without its tissue being folded or constantly disturbed. When introducing one to a new system, start it in a lower-light position and gradually increase exposure if required.
Allow some room around the coral as Yumas can expand considerably and may irritate neighbouring corals through direct contact.
With stable conditions and careful placement, Yuma Mushrooms can develop into spectacular specimens with impressive texture and fluorescence.
Colour, size and expansion can vary considerably depending on lighting, flow and individual aquarium conditions.
