Alveopora Coral

Large frag

Alveopora is a beautiful LPS coral prized for its long, flowing polyps and distinctive flower-like appearance. This example displays stunning fluorescent green tips with contrasting blue-green centres, producing exceptional colour under blue reef lighting.

When fully extended, the numerous delicate polyps create constant gentle movement, making Alveopora an excellent choice for adding both texture and motion to a reef display. While generally more forgiving than Goniopora, it still benefits greatly from stable water conditions and consistent nutrient levels.

Care Level: Moderate
Lighting: Low to moderate
Flow: Low to moderate, gentle and indirect
Placement: Lower to middle
Temperament: Generally peaceful – allow room for full polyp extension
Growth Rate: Moderate
Feeding: Photosynthetic but benefits from occasional fine particulate coral foods

Ideal Tank Parameters

Temperature: 24–26°C
Salinity: 1.024–1.026 SG
Alkalinity: 7.5–9.0 dKH
Calcium: 400–450 ppm
Magnesium: 1250–1400 ppm
Nitrate: 2–15 ppm
Phosphate: 0.03–0.10 ppm

Alveopora prefers stable conditions and should not be placed in excessively strong or direct flow. Gentle, varied water movement allows the polyps to extend naturally without being constantly pushed to one side.

Avoid ultra-low nutrient conditions and leave sufficient space around the colony for its polyps to fully extend.

Please note: Colour, polyp extension and appearance can vary depending on lighting, flow and individual aquarium conditions.
